Essentials of Life

Essentials of Life

A short and sweet #wednesdaywords which has been inspired by this….

This hangs in my hallway. It was a gift from my very best friend this Christmas. (Yes, good old Cynthia again!) It sums up me so well, as the writing says everything I believe in. It represents all of the things which I need. I need to be busy, otherwise I can spiral into a pit of pure laziness! I need people to love (as well as needing people to love me!) and I ALWAYS need something to look forward to, even if it’s simply a cup of tea and a piece of cake. It reminds me, when I’m feeling low, of all the lovely people I have around me, and of all the lovely things that are yet to happen and that I have to look forward to.

Quite frankly, I love it! Do you have a quote or motto you like to live by?

I love this! What a great friend to be so spot on. I def need more structure otherwise I get too lazy. Not sure what my motto is. ‘ Have no regrets’ is something I aim for.

It is just lovely. I love these sort of things that you have around your house to remind you…I have a couple:
“Happiness is not a destination it is a way of life” and “Dance as if noone were watching, sing as if noone were listening, live everyday as if it were your last”. My current favourite is “Please excuse the noise and mess, my children are making happy memories”.

Brilliant quote to have on the wall! Mine used to be: “There are two tragedies in life: one is to lose your heart’s desire. The other is to gain it.” But that was back in my goth days when being deeply troubled was my life’s work.

Yes! Well, in my defence, I was nineteen at the time.

No defence needed, we all live by different mottos at different times, it’s interesting! ‘Wouldn’t do for us all to be the same’ as my Dad used to say! 🙂

That is a brilliant quote to live life by. This has been a sad and strange week so far and simple words like that do help to clear the fog in my head x

I love quotes. In fact, I am quite well known amongst my friends to come up with quotes pretty often. One of my favorite is: “A 1000 miles journey starts with a single step”. When I have a difficult and demanding task to carry out that makes me feel overwhelmed I force myself to pause and repeat that quote to myself! Normally it helps me calm down and put things into the right prospective.
